About

Roxanne Lim is a writer, director, and producer. But usually she just says she’s an artist.

Roxanne was raised an Uptown girl in Washington Heights and Harlem, and is now based in Queens. Her passion for building community through the arts is highly influenced by the urban diaspora and the origins of hip-hop. She uses her platform to amplify the stories of marginalized audiences, challenge mainstream perspectives, and subvert expectations.

She is most known for creating branded, social-first content with a portfolio that spans as far as Chicago, London, Los Angeles, and the Bay Area. However, she is currently focused on growing her career in Television/Film. Her web series GLIMPSES examines vignettes of intimacy while her TV Pilot BABYGIRL is a love letter to the ABG culture of the early 2000s.

Roxanne’s practice often explores the intersections of pop culture, identity, and imagination. She enjoys feeding her curiosity - and it shows. Much like the calamansi fruits she loves, Roxanne’s style is refreshing, reflecting tenderly on both the sweet and sour things in life.

“The artist's role is to raise the consciousness of the people. To make them understand life, the world and themselves more completely. That's how I see it. Otherwise, I don't know why you do it.”
