PISCES URGES

The assignment: throw a book reading that felt more like a party.

The challenge: accepted!

Czaerra Galicinao Ucol’s book, Pisces Urges, is a celebration of all things weird and freaky about discovering one’s self. So I organized a Literaoke event in which attendees were encouraged to come in costume. We had a lineup of poets who read their own works, then followed up with a karaoke song. Food was provided by Sampaguita Eats, a local Queens-based caterer.
