Raised Pinay // Theater
Production: 2019-2020, Premiere: 2020
The Sisters of Raised Pinay Generation 4 were originally set to lay down their stories in ritual offering for our greater community to bear witness to on the weekend of April 25, 2020.
When the Covid-19 pandemic hit, we found ourselves resetting, and being invited to have our Sisterhood Circle hold us in our healing and grounding in this extraordinary time. We put aside our original stories and through the guidance of Jana Lynne (JL) Umipig, we used this time to rise to the challenges we were facing in our homes and in our relations with family, partners, communities, and ourselves.
Through a Sacred Online Screening & Virtual Gathering, we shared Lessons of Survival, that connect us back to the survival stories of our families, that raised us up as Pinays, and how those lessons were necessary to re-member and apply in this time.
